The 47 Hour Firearms Training Course is for current
security guards who would like to upgrade their license to work as an
ARMED SECURITY GUARD or for
persons who have a pistol permit and
have little or no training and wish to receive a high quality
Firearms Training Course. Instruction will be
given in several areas such as shooting drills, Article 35 of the Penal Law of
New York State (Justification - Use of Force and Deadly Force), tactical
considerations, shoot and move, ammunition concerns, post incident trauma,
holsters and weapon retention, care and cleaning, safety procedures and
consequences of a shooting. In addition, different types of firearms and their
safe storage will be discussed as well.
This cost of this training course is $475.00 with a down payment of
$275.00 required after which time the course information will be sent to
each applicant via US Mail or email. This information will instruct students
where to report and what to bring such as number of rounds (600-700), eye and
ear protection, cleaning kits, leather goods, magazines or speed loaders, etc.
This course is taught by certified POLICE FIREARM Instructors with over twenty
(25) years of experience. All instruction is local with NO long distance
driving. Some ammunition such as 9mm and 40mm rounds are stocked and can be
purchased at DSS for cost ($13.00-14.00 per box of 50). Other ammo can be
obtained with some notice given to DSS upon registration.
It's the best available. Depending upon enrollment, the course is scheduled for May 4th, 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th, 2012. A packet will be sent to registered students later this month.
All starting times are 8 am. Please register in advance
as early as possible so that plans can be made for your training. Payment
can be made by using the PayPal link or
by sending your check or money order at least 10 days prior to the start of
class.
