Description
NYS Concealed Carry Firearms Safety Course (16 Hours)
Instructors will focus on the safe care and proper handling of a Firearm. Don’s Security Services designed this course to meet and exceed the requirements necessary with the application process by County Pistol Permit Departments as well as the NYS Concealed Carry Firearms Safety Courses. Don’s Security Services will provide all paperwork and applications at class with instructions for completion.
**This 16-Hour course replaces the previously-sufficient 3-hour Pistol Permit Safety Course**
NYS no longer accepts the 3-Hour Safety Courses that were held in 2022 and earlier. For those who took a course in 2022 but never finished the pistol permit application paperwork, the 16-Hour course is the only acceptable route for application going forward.

APPLICANTS: (Requirements)
*Must be at least 21 years of age to apply for a Pistol Permit in New York State. (However, applicants can attend the NYS Concealed Carry Firearms Safety Course training at age 20 and then apply for their permit at age 21)*
*US Citizen*
*ID Required (Driver’s License etc.)*
Course M U S T be pre-paid or have approval given to pay at the course.
*STUDENTS ARE ABLE TO RESCHEDULE ONCE WITHIN 48HRS – ABSOLUTLEY NO REFUNDS*
If a registrant has an emergency situation come up on the day of class, DSS will attempt to coordinate a replacement class date with that individual.
All students must come prepared with photo ID on the day of class. This includes, but is not limited to, state-issued driver’s license, non-driver ID card (NDID), passport, etc. If a student does not have any form of photo ID, please call and discuss prior to registering for this course.
